About This Course

The OSSC CGL (Odisha Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level) is a state-level competitive examination conducted to recruit candidates for various Group-B and Group-C posts within the Odisha government.

1. Key Highlights

  • Recruiting Body: Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC).

  • Post Types: Assistant CT & GST Officer, Auditor, Inspector of Cooperative Societies, Junior Assistant, and Gram Panchayat Extension Officer (GPEO).

  • Educational Requirement: A Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia fluently (usually evidenced by passing Odia in Class 7 or 10).


2. Selection Process

The recruitment process typically consists of three main stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination:

    • Format: Objective type (MCQs).

    • Marks: 150 marks.

    • Duration: 150 minutes.

    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

    • Subjects: Arithmetic, Data Interpretation, Reasoning, Current Affairs, and Computer Awareness.

  2. Main Written Examination:

    • Format: Usually consists of two papers (both objective/MCQ based in the revised pattern).

    • Paper I: Language (Odia and English).

    • Paper II: General Studies (History, Geography, Constitution, Economy, etc.).

  3. Certificate Verification: * The final stage where documents are checked for eligibility and authenticity. For certain posts, a Computer Skill Test is also mandatory.


3. Salary Structure

The salary varies based on the group classification of the post:

4. Eligibility Criteria (2025-26)

  • Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 42 years (as of January 1 of the recruitment year).

  • Relaxations: Standard age relaxations apply (5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/Women and 10 years for PwD).

  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer knowledge is essential for almost all CGL cadre posts.
